Driver compliance and pedestrian safety at zebra crossings in the Cape Coast Metropolis, Ghana

open access: yesUrban, Planning and Transport Research, 2021
Vehicle-pedestrian interactions predispose pedestrians to road traffic crashes because of the importance of pedestrian trips for geographical mobility and spatial interaction which may be effectively reduced by zebra crossings.

Flexible Pressure Sensor With Co‐Optimized Sensitivity and Linearity Based on Gradient Toroidal Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor with gradient toroidal CNT/PDMS microstructures is reported. The hierarchical geometry enables sequential electrode contact, achieving a sensitivity of 256.20 kPa−1 and linear response (R2 = 0.99) over 0–1000 kPa.

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Investigating and Improving Pedestrian Safety in an Urban Environment of a Low- or Middle-Income Country: A Case Study of Yaoundé, Cameroon

open access: yesFuture Transportation
In Yaoundé, Cameroon, where walking dominates transport modes, pedestrian safety remains an issue as pedestrians account for a fair share of road traffic casualties, partly due to the lack of walking policies and pedestrian facilities safety data ...

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

Evaluating pedestrian behavior factors related to road safety using analytic hierarchy process and Kendall’s correlation in a fuzzy environment

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives
Road safety is a function of multiple factors that affect roads, and these factors compromise road safety. To Evaluate the Pedestrian Behavior Criteria related to road safety, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach with Triangular Fuzzy Sets (TFS)
