Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

miR155, triplicated in Down syndrome, regulates the development of neural stem cells and GABAergic interneurons in Alzheimer's disease mouse and human iPSC models

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Dysfunctional microRNAs and GABAergic interneurons are features of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The role of neuronal microRNA155 (miR155), elevated in both AD and Down syndrome (DS), remains unknown. METHODS We utilized in silico analyses of published databases, MIR155‐deleted and ‐overexpressing human induced pluripotent stem cell ...

PrEP at the site of action in cisgender and transgender women: A pharmacology study of blood and rectal CD4+ lymphocytes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 8, Page 2949-2959, August 2026.
Background Female sex hormones used in feminizing hormone therapy (FHT) may influence activation and persistence of HIV pre‐exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medications. The clinical relevance of this interaction remains unclear, particularly for transgender and cisgender women (TGW and CGW).

Acute and Chronic Effects of Aerobic Exercise on Motor Inhibition and Cortical Excitability in Adolescents With Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
In adolescents with ADHD, acute and chronic aerobic exercise enhance motor inhibition. Chronic exercise yields greater benefits and reduces cortical excitability, linking behavioral gains to neurophysiological changes. These findings support sustained exercise as a therapeutic strategy for improving inhibitory control.
