ABSTRACT Background Olfactory dysfunction affects up to 22% of the population. Accurate assessment is vital for diagnosis and tracking outcomes, often using patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). Aims We aimed to develop and validate a novel questionnaire for assessing olfactory and gustatory dysfunction.

Boosting Skull-Stripping Performance for Pediatric Brain Images [PDF]
Skull-stripping is the removal of background and non-brain anatomical features from brain images. While many skull-stripping tools exist, few target pediatric populations. With the emergence of multi-institutional pediatric data acquisition efforts to broaden the understanding of perinatal brain development, it is essential to develop robust and well ...

3D Graph Attention Networks for High Fidelity Pediatric Glioma Segmentation [PDF]
Pediatric brain tumors, particularly gliomas, represent a significant cause of cancer related mortality in children with complex infiltrative growth patterns that complicate treatment. Early, accurate segmentation of these tumors in neuroimaging data is crucial for effective diagnosis and intervention planning.

Lineage labeling with zebrafish hand2 Cre and CreERT2 recombinase CRISPR knock‐ins
Abstract Background The ability to generate endogenous Cre recombinase drivers using CRISPR‐Cas9 knock‐in technology allows lineage tracing, cell type‐specific gene studies, and in vivo validation of inferred developmental trajectories from phenotypic and gene expression analyses. This report describes endogenous zebrafish hand2 Cre and CreERT2 drivers

Direct Estimation of Pediatric Heart Rate Variability from BOLD-fMRI: A Machine Learning Approach Using Dynamic Connectivity [PDF]
In many pediatric fMRI studies, cardiac signals are often missing or of poor quality. A tool to extract Heart Rate Variation (HRV) waveforms directly from fMRI data, without the need for peripheral recording devices, would be highly beneficial. We developed a machine learning framework to accurately reconstruct HRV for pediatric applications.

ABSTRACT Objective Avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) is a relatively new diagnostic entity, and no medication has been approved. Recent data suggest that mirtazapine, a tetracyclic antidepressant, could improve outcomes in ARFID. We conducted a retrospective chart review to examine the effects of mirtazapine on ARFID treatment in youth.
