Using deep learning to assess the toxicological effects of sublethal exposure of a novel green pesticide in a stored-product beetle. [PDF]

open access: yesPest Manag Sci
This study employs an AI‐driven multidisciplinary approach to increase our understanding of the toxicological effects of sublethal concentrations of carlina oxide on Prostephanus truncatus. Sublethal exposure to the carlina oxide induced changes in motor patterns and thigmotaxis, highlighting its potential role in integrated pest management strategies.

Influence of Geomorphic Disturbance on Phenotypic Species Plasticity and Vegetation Cover in High‐Elevated Belts [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Climate change increases geomorphological disturbances, which in turn affect vegetation establishment in high‐elevation areas; understanding species' responses to such disturbances is essential. We analysed vegetation across disturbed and undisturbed alpine sites to identify environmental drivers and assess species trait plasticity.

Global Warming and Mass Extinctions Associated With Large Igneous Province Volcanism

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 83-102., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

The concept “soil biophysical fertility: theoretical and applied support” [PDF]

open access: yesPresent Environment and Sustainable Development, 2022
In terms of the theory of elementary pedogenetic processes, the pedogenetic process represents the totality of the integration processes of abiotic and biotic matter in the composition of the basic soil matter, which represents the first level of ...

Andic properties in soils with histic horizon “O” in the highlands of Southern Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2021
Soils with andic properties are characterized by a low apparent density, variable charges, large amounts of allophanes, imogolite, ferrihydrite, and/or organo-metallic complexes with Al, and present high phosphate retention.

PEDOGENESIS OF LATERITIC SOILS AND THE ENRICHMENT OF CRITICAL METALS: A STUDY FROM SOUTHEAST SULAWESI, INDONESIA

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 2023
Lateritic soil is a prospective source of metals termed critical or strategic metals due to their use in high-technology industries. Critical metals include rare earth elements (REEs).

Alluvial soil formation in the plains of northeastern Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2020
Soils in alluvial plains of the lower course of the Acaraú River, Ceará State, Brazil, are weakly developed and have a complex distribution in the landscape. This study reports the pedogenic characterization of such soils in an effort to understand their

Natural variability of major and trace elements in non-ornithogenic Gelisoils at Edmonson Point, northern Victoria Land, Antarctica [PDF]

open access: yesPolish Polar Research, 2018
Antarctica is perceived as one of the most pristine environments on Earth, though increasing human activities and global climate change raise concerns about preserving the continent’s environmental quality. Limited in distribution, soils are particularly
