Dieback of Pedunculate oak from the ecological- vegetative aspect
1997Forests of Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) covering about 200, 000 ha of the Croatian territory, inhabit the valleys of the rivers Sava, Drava, Danube and their tributaries, and account for about 10% of the overall forested area in Croatia. The total growing stock in these forests is 55 million m3, and the annual current increment is 1.4 million m3.

The groundwater regime - a decisive factor of pedunculate oak stability
2000This poster encompasses research undertaken in the framework of the "Permanent monitoring of ground and surface water in the lowland forest ecosystem" project. Monitoring was carried out in the Varoški lug forest at seven piezometric stations during the period 1988-1998.

Natural regeneration of pedunculate oak in floodplain forests of Croatia
1999Natural regeneration of pedunculate oak in floodplain forests in Croatia is done with shelterwood fellings in three (preparatory, seedling and final) or in two cuts (seedling and final). In new-formed ecological conditions marked with forest dieback and decline, sites have to be prepared in order for natural regeneration to be ...

Impact of thinnings on the value increment of Pedunculate oak
Prilikom odabira pokusnih objekata nastojalo se da oni budu predstavnici mladih, srednjodobnih i starijih ...

Genetic determinism of water use efficiency in pedunculate oak
2010Genetic diversity in intrinsic water use efficiency (Wi) has been studied within a pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) family. Wi is defined at the leaf level as the ratio between net CO2 assimilation rate and stomatal conductance to water vapour. For large scale phenotyping, this trait can be estimated by measuring carbon isotope composition (δ13C) on ...

Cytogenetic damages as an indicator of pedunculate oak forest decline
1997Cytogenetic analysis of Quercus robur was conducted to investigate any relationship between oak forest decline and cytogenetic abnormalities. Chromosomes of Quercus robur specimens were successfully stained using the double-staining method with Feulgen and Giemsa. The studies revealed that specimens had chromosome complements of 2n=2x=24 or 2n=2x=24+1B.
