What the reasons for no inbreeding and high genetic diversity of the neotropical fig tree Ficus arpazusa ?

open access: yes, 2009
Ficus arpazusa Casaretto is a fig tree native to the Atlantic Rain Forest sensu lato. High levels of genetic diversity and no inbreeding were observed in Ficus arpazusa.

Species-diagnostic microsatellite loci for the fig wasp genus Pegoscapus

open access: yes, 2002
To obtain tools for the estimation of inbreeding and assignment of offspring to matrilines, we developed 13 microsatellite loci from the fig wasps that pollinate Ficus obtusifolia. Based on morphological studies, it was thought that a single species (Pegoscapus hoffmeyer) pollinated this fig.

Larval biology of Pegoscapus tonduzi (Chalcidoidea, Agaonidae), polinator of Ficus citrifolia (Moraceae)

open access: yes, 2009
A interação mutualística, espécie-especifica, vespas de figo-figueiras envolve dois processos antagonísticos, predação de sementes e polinização, realizadas por vespas da família Agaonidae.

Hurricane Andrew and a Florida Fig Pollination Mutualism: Resilience of an Obligate Interaction

open access: yes, 1995
International audienceThe obligate mutualism between figs and their species-specific pollinator wasps has been thought to be relatively fragile in the face of population fluctuations of either mutualist.

Ficus petiolaris wasp count data

open access: yes, 2015
Includes counts of all female non-pollinating fig wasps from the syconia of the Sonoran Desert rock fig, Ficus petiolaris. The data file includes the site, tree and syconia (`Fruit') labels from each syconia sampled (rows); the data also includes columns

Measuring the discrepancy between fecundity and lifetime reproductive success in a pollinating fig wasp

open access: yes, 2011
Lifetime reproductive success in female insects is often egg- or time-limited. For instance in pro-ovigenic species, when oviposition sites are abundant, females may quickly become devoid of eggs. Conversely, in the absence of suitable oviposition sites,

Variation in reproductive success within a subtropical fig/pollinator mutualism

open access: yes, 1996
International audienceAbstract. Plants pollinated by specialists are often thought to receive exceptionally high‐quality pollinator service, but in relatively low and unpredictable quantities.

Non-pollinating wasps distort the sex ratio of pollinating fig wasps

open access: yes, 2015
In fig wasps, mating occurs among the offspring of one or a few foundress mothers within the fig, from which the mated females disperse to found new broods.
