Intermediate filaments link glutamate–aspartate transporter deficiency to cochlear synaptopathy
In a healthy ear, GLAST transporters in supporting cells clear excess glutamate to protect auditory connections. When GLAST is missing, glutamate accumulates and leads to the destruction of structural scaffolding within the postsynaptic nerve endings. This internal collapse causes a loss of synapses that are essential for hearing, ultimately resulting ...

Duplication of vas genes is universally observed in aphids, and phylogenetic analysis indicates that this event predates the divergence of Aphididae and Phylloxeridae. Ap‐vas1 is germline‐specific, whereas Ap‐vas2–4 exhibit somatic expression, indicating functional divergence during aphid embryogenesis.

Dual-Server Boolean Data Retrieval for Highly-Scalable Secure File Sharing Services
Searchable encryption (SE) is a promising strategy for cloud-based file retrieval services, via structuring correspondences between files and keywords. Public key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) has been generally employed in file-sharing services,

Searchable encryption with randomized ciphertext and randomized keyword search
The notion of public-key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) was introduced to search over encrypted data without performing any decryption. In this article, we propose a PEKS scheme in which both the encrypted keyword and the trapdoor are randomized ...

ABSTRACT Background Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) belongs to a group of synthetic chemicals referred to as per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) that are known to degrade slowly. Exposure to PFOS has been reported to cause birth defects and disrupt female sex hormone levels in mice.

Adaptive Secure-Channel Free Public-Key Encryption with Keyword Search Implies Timed Release Encryption [PDF]
As well-known results, timed-release encryption (TRE) and public key encryption scheme with keyword search (PEKS) are very close to identity-based encryption (IBE), respectively.

Schematic diagram of challenges and advanced strategies by CBP after thickness reduction. ABSTRACT The proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) converts clean hydrogen's chemical energy into electricity and is vital for carbon neutrality. However, its development is limited by low volumetric power density and high cost.

SHS: Secure Hybrid Search by Combining Dynamic and Static Indexes in PEKS [PDF]
With a significant advance in ciphertext searchability, Public-key encryption with keyword search (PEKS) is the first keyword searchable encryption scheme based on the probabilistic encryption, such that it is more secure than almost all previous schemes.
