Numerical Optimization of Multi-Stage Thermoelectric Cooling Systems Using Bi2Te3 for Enhanced Cryosurgical Applications

open access: yesThermo
Cryosurgery employs extremely low temperatures to destroy abnormal or cancerous tissue. Conventional systems use cryogenic fluids like liquid nitrogen or argon, which pose challenges in handling, cost, and precise temperature control. This study explores

A Biosourced and Self‐Healable Polymer Electrolyte for Potassium Batteries

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
A biosourced lignin‐filled gel polymer electrolyte combines suppressed crystallinity, high ionic conductivity, and UPy‐driven self‐healing for potassium batteries. The optimized formulation sustains long‐term cycling with 97.5% capacity retention after 1000 cycles and preserves electrochemical operation after intentional membrane damage.

Nanostructured Optical Superabsorbers from Carbon Nanotube Forest for Heat Management Using Environmental Blackbody Radiation from the Visible to Mid‐Infrared

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Our computational model of the optical absorption from multiwalled carbon nanotubes suggests the optical absorption depends strongly on the in‐plane electrical conductivity, and weakly on the through‐plane conductivity. Such strong absorption enables solar‐to‐thermal conversion for heat scavenging in cold climates and radiative cooling in hot climates,

Enhanced Structural Reversibility and Electrochemical Stability Via Fe3+/Fe4+ Stabilization in a P3‐Type Layered Na0.7[Mn0.5Fe0.4Li0.1]O2 Cathode at High‐Voltages

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Partial Li substitution for Fe in a P3‐Type layered Na0.7[Mn0.5Fe0.4Li0.1]O2 cathode stabilizes the iron redox behavior, particularly at higher charging voltage up to 4.5 V (vs Na/Na+), that enables more reversible sodium‐ion storage capacity and significantly improves capacity retention.

Qualitative Analysis of Biogas by Raman Spectroscopy: Effect of Pressure on Major Components

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Raman spectra of major and selected minor biogas components were studied under pressures up to 100 bar. Pressure‐induced shifts and band broadening were quantified for methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen, while Raman spectra of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide are presented in the context of biogas quality monitoring.
