Tubular pyrolysis synthesis is a widespread method to produce activated carbons (ACs). This review focuses on the different controlling parameters of the tubular pyrolysis synthesis method and their influence on the performance of synthesized ACs, thereby considering both experimental aspects and the use of plant‐based biomasses (PBBs) as feedstock ...

Anisotropically Wettable Porous Transport Layers for Gas Management in Water Electrolyzers
Synergistic wetting, achieved by integrating hydrophilic and hydrophobic domains, enhances mass transport in porous transport layers. In situ visualization reveals that dual‐phase wetting suppresses gas accumulation and promotes continuous bubble release, enabling stable, bubble‐free electrolysis within membrane electrode assemblies.

A facile ligand‐assisted strategy is developed to synthesize nanosized high‐entropy PtIr‐iHEA/C intermetallic catalyst (∼4.8 nm, 90% ordered). Structural analysis during oxygen reduction reveals its surface reconstructions, leading to a core–shell atomic configuration (PtIr‐iHEA@Pt) that originates the superior durability.

Recent Advances in Tailoring Active Site Microenvironments of Fe–N–C Catalysts for Oxygen Reduction
This review summarizes the main factors affecting Fe–N–C catalysts for ORR: activity depends on active site structure, electronic configuration, and porosity, while stability is limited by metal leaching, carbon degradation, and inactive phase formation.
