Archives of Dermatology, 1971The clinical and laboratory data on 81 patients with benign mucous membrane pemphigoid (BMMP) seen during the years 1950 through 1968 were reviewed. Mucous-membrane and cutaneous involvements were variable, but the oral mucosa and conjunctivae were eventually involved in approximately 75% of the cases.

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1974In a case of benign mucous membrane pemphigoid with widespread skin lesions, direct and indirect immunofluorescent studies of the skin and sera of the patient demonstrated tissue-fixed and circulating antibodies. The titer of the latter appeared to be correlated with the activity of the disease.
