Pemphigoid gestationis

Clinics in Dermatology, 2012
Pemphigoid gestationis is a rare autoimmune subepidermal bullous dermatosis that occurs during pregnancy and postpartum. Diagnosis is made on the basis of the presence of a subepidermal vesicle on routine histologic examination and of linear deposition of complement along the basement membrane zone of perilesional skin.

Cicatricial Pemphigoid

Southern Medical Journal, 1993
This case of CP is of interest because of its "not-so-benign" course in this patient, its unusual immunofluorescence patterns, and the need for a complex therapeutic regimen to achieve control. This patient had severe ocular; laryngeal, and oropharyngeal involvement leading to visual problems, hoarseness, and marked weight loss and dehydration. He also

Nonbullous pemphigoid: Prodrome of bullous pemphigoid or a distinct pemphigoid variant?

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1993
We describe two patients with pruritic, mainly urticarial or eczematous lesions associated with peripheral blood eosinophilia. No vesicles or blisters developed in either patient throughout the course of the disease (29 and 38 months, respectively). To characterize the clinicopathologic features of these patients we performed histopathologic studies ...

Localized pretibial pemphigoid and pemphigoid nodularis

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 1992
We describe a 75-year-old woman with a chronic, blistering eruption on the left leg whose clinical and immunopathologic features were consistent with a diagnosis of localized pretibial pemphigoid. After a disease-free interval of 5 years she developed a generalized prurigo nodularis-like eruption.

Pemphigoid vegetans

British Journal of Dermatology, 1989
A Japanese case of pemphigoid vegetans is described. The clinical, histopathological and immunological features were similar to the previously reported cases. The patient also developed vesicular lesions. Indirect immunoelectronmicroscopy revealed that the autoantibody in this patient's serum reacted with basal cell hemidesmosomes.

Bullous Pemphigoid, Cicatricial Pemphigoid, and Pemphigoid Gestationis

1998
The term “pemphigoid” applies to several different clinical disorders that share the clinical appearance of blisters, the histologic finding of subepidermal blister, and circulating and skin-bound IgG antibodies against a component of the basement membrane zone (BMZ) (Table 89-1).

Cicatricial pemphigoid

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2000
Cicatricial pemphigoid (CP) is a heterogeneous group of rare, chronic, subepithelial blistering disorders of the mucous membranes and, occasionally, the skin, which can have serious and rarely fatal consequences. The most common clinical features are desquamative gingivitis, oral erosions, and conjunctival fibrosis.
