Do Taxpayers Embrace Social Norms to Comply? Empirical Evidence From Indonesia

open access: yesAsian-Pacific Economic Literature, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 29-41, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study explores the powerful role societal norms play in shaping taxpayers' behaviour in Indonesia, with a focus on how the prevalence of compliance influences both tax filing and payment practices. By examining the ratio of tax evaders to compliant taxpayers in specific regions, we measured the strength of these norms and explored their ...

Photo‐Rewritable Ambipolar Organic Electrochemical Synapses with Bidirectional Optical Plasticity for Adaptive Vision in Aqueous Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 24, 27 April 2026.
Photo‐rewritable ambipolar organic synapses operating in aqueous environments at low voltage (≤0.4 V) demonstrate bidirectional optical plasticity through photon‐modulated electrochemical doping. The bulk heterojunction device enables both excitatory and inhibitory responses with extended retention time (>130 min).

Ultralow‐Power Real‐Time On‐Chip Thermal Prediction via Finite Element Method–Machine Learning Codesign and Field‐Programmable Gate Array Deployment

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
A lightweight machine learning (ML)‐based thermal prediction framework is demonstrated and implemented on a field‐programmable gate array (FPGA). Using measured temperature data from a real chiplet, the approach enables real‐time, die‐level heat‐map inference with low power consumption, validating practical on‐chip thermal monitoring for advanced ...

Solid NaOH Slug‐Flow Platform for Enhanced Mass Transfer in Phase‐Transfer Catalysis

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
A continuous slug‐flow strategy utilizing a solid NaOH–organic phase–fluorinated oil (NaOH(s)–Org(l)–F‐oil) system was developed to overcome the mass transfer limitations and side‐reaction problems observed during phase‐transfer catalysis using conventional NaOH(aq)–Org(l) systems. The use of NaOH(s) instead of NaOH(aq) enhanced the reaction efficiency,

Weather Conditions Are Systematically Associated With Long‐Range Nonroutine Movements in a Large Scavenger

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
As vultures rely on soaring flight, the interplay of solar radiation, as well as wind direction and strength, is crucial for both short‐ and long‐range movements. Under very weak wind conditions, Griffon Vultures restricted their movements in the areas around the colony, as exploring areas at the borders of their home range is more demanding ...
