Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Field Cone Penetration Tests with Various Penetration Rates - Test Results

open access: yes, 2011
The test site is located at Nordre Ringgade near the town called Dronninglund in the northern Jutland in Denmark. The site area is relatively flat, and was chosen because it has a size of approximately 3 ha and contains a relatively thick deposit of silty soils.

Evolution of penetration mechanism induced by strain rate effect

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
According to the dynamic mechanical properties, in the striking velocity range, the strain rate of the projectile and target caused by penetration can reach 104~106 /s. The strain rate effect increases sharply and then tends to saturation.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Analysis on Characteristics of Mixed Traffic Flow with Intelligent Connected Vehicles at Airport Two-Lane Curbside Based on Traffic Characteristics

open access: yesAerospace
With the growing adoption of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), their market penetration is expected to rise. This study investigates the mixed traffic flow dynamics of human-driven vehicles (HDVs) and CAVs at airport terminal curbsides.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Determining whether estimated spore release rates for Aspergillus fumigatus are compatible with their measured growth rates in composting systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The composting process like other waste management activities has the potential to generate large concentrations of bioaerosols which can be widely dispersed into the surrounding environment.

Theoretical aspects for the design software of drive system in the drilling technology

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2000
There is defined the function of expence optimization of drilling in a ground massif in the work. It is possible to rewrite the cost optimization formula of Waller and Rowsell to the formula()CBRTHkAERPmA=++ ,whereC - costs related to the current meter ...
