Tracking Fin‐Prints on Reef Flats: A Genus‐Specific eDNA Metabarcoding Assay for Epaulette Sharks (Hemiscyllium spp.) With Field Validation in Raja Ampat

This study developed and validated the first genus‐specific eDNA assay for epaulette sharks (Hemiscyllium spp.), targeting the NADH4 gene. Field application in Raja Ampat detected H. freycineti at six of seven locations, including one location (Dayan) where daytime visual surveys failed, demonstrating this tool's value for monitoring protected species.

Harnessing nature‐based solutions in modified tropical peatland to benefit biodiversity

Our findings demonstrate that well‐designed protection–production NbS schemes in tropical peat swamps can deliver joint climate and biodiversity benefits, provided that governance safeguards core forests while improving habitat quality in production zones.
