Isolation and Characterization of Ochrobactrum tritici for Penicillin V Potassium Degradation [PDF]

open access: yesmSphere, 2020
Substantial concentrations of penicillin V potassium (PVK) have been found in livestock manure, soil, and wastewater effluents, which may pose potential threats to human health and contribute to the emergence of penicillin-resistant bacterial strains. In

Determination of penicillin V potassium in pharmaceuticals and spiked human urine by chemiluminescence

open access: yesOpen Chemistry, 2009
AbstractA simple and selective method for penicillin V potassium (PVK) determination by chemiluminescence (CL) was developed. Oxidation of PVK by alkaline hydrogen peroxide produces CL, which is greatly enhanced by N, N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) and N-cetyl-N,N,N-trimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB).

Development of a MIP-Based QCM Sensor for Selective Detection of Penicillins in Aqueous Media

open access: yesChemosensors, 2021
Pharmaceuticals wastes have been recognized as emerging pollutants to the environment. Among those, antibiotics in the aquatic environment are one of the major sources of concern, as chronic, low-dose exposure can lead to antibiotic resistance.

Enzyme-catalyzed biodegradation of penicillin fermentation residues by β-lactamase OtLac from Ochrobactrum tritici

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2021
Background Biodegradation of antibiotics is a promising method for the large-scale removal of antibiotic residues in the environment. However, the enzyme that is involved in the biodegradation process is the key information to be revealed.

Separation of phenyl acetic acid and 6-aminopenicillanic acid applying aqueous two-phase systems based on copolymers and salts

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
6-Aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA) is used for synthesis of semisynthetic antibiotics. Polymer-salt aqueous two-phase systems (ATPSs) were applied for separation of 6-APA and phenyl acetic acid (PAA), as the products of hydrolyzation reaction of Penicillin

Cholinergic modulation of epileptiform activity in the developing rat neocortex [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The effects of carbachol on picrotoxin-induced epileptiform activity and membrane properties of neurons in the developing rat neocortex were examined in an in vitro slice preparation.

Comparison between a direct-flow SPR immunosensor for ampicillin and a competitive conventional amperometric device: analytical features and possible applications to real samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this research, we developed a direct-flow surface plasmon resonance (SPR) immunosensor for ampicillin to perform direct, simple, and fast measurements of this important antibiotic.

Penicillin-binding proteins of protoplast and sporoplast membranes of Streptomyces griseus strains [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Membrane-bound penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) of two Streptomyces griseus strains that sporulate well in liquid and solid medium have been investigated during the course of their life-cycle.

EXPIRED AMOXICILLIN AND PENICILLIN V POTASSIUM TABLETS AS THE GREEN CORROSION INHIBITOR FOR LOWCARBON STEEL IN ACETIC ACID SOLUTION CONTAINING CHLORIDE IONS [PDF]

open access: yesQuímica Nova
The recycle and utilization of expired drugs is a challenge for many countries at present. The employment of expired drugs as green corrosion inhibitors is expected to address both drug recycling and corrosion prevention issues, with significant economic
