Realtime elastosonography of the penis in patients with Peyronie's disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Objective: To evaluate the performance of real time elastosonography (RTE) in the iden- tification of different types of penile lesions in patients with Peyronie’s disease.

Rolling Ultrasharp Microneedle Spheres Enable Topical Delivery of Biologics Through the Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Rolling ultraminiaturized microneedle spheres (RUMS), created via two‐photon polymerization, unlock effective and painless topical delivery of messenger RNA (mRNA) and drugs through the skin. By gently forming thousands of microscopic pores, RUMS boost skin permeability by up to 100‐fold.

Myosin Va Plays a Role in Nitrergic Smooth Muscle Relaxation in Gastric Fundus and Corpora Cavernosa of Penis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The intracellular motor protein myosin Va is involved in nitrergic neurotransmission possibly by trafficking of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) within the nerve terminals.

Biofabrication of a Filtration Barrier by Integrating Electrospun Membranes and Flow in a Glomerular Co‐Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An ex vivo glomerular filtration barrier is engineered using electrospun, biomimetic membranes seeded with human glomerular cells. The model supports fenestrated endothelium and podocyte foot processes under flow, mimics size‐selective filtration, and enables disease modeling with hiPSC‐derived podocytes, offering a powerful platform for studying ...

Biologically Active Implants Prevent Mortality in a Mouse Sepsis Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A modular, triple‐action titanium implant is developed to prevent implant‐associated infections by repelling bacteria, killing pathogens, and enhancing tissue integration. Coatings with phage cocktails targeting P. aeruginosa and S. aureus show significant bacterial reduction and improved survival in a mouse sepsis model.

Biphasic Granular Bioinks for Biofabrication of High Cell Density Constructs for Dermal Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a biphasic granular bioink (µInk) that enables 3D bioprinting of high cell density constructs for dermal regeneration. The bioink promotes cell proliferation, ECM deposition, and neovascularization, leading to tissue integration and reduced scar formation in vivo.
