In Vitro Behavior of Boron‐Doped Baghdadite/Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Membrane Scaffolds Produced via Non‐Solvent Induced Phase Separation

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
Boron‐doped baghdadite (BAG)‐loaded polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane scaffolds produced by non‐solvent induced phase separation (NIPS) show higher hydrophilicity, bioactivity and cancellous‐bone‐like mechanics. The scalable BAG/PVDF composites offer a versatile alternative to traditional bone grafts for regenerative medicine. Abstract This study

Surgical outcomes in penile fractures: A single center experience in China

open access: yesHeliyon
Introduction: Penile fracture is an uncommon urological emergency resulting from tunica albuginea rupture during penile erection. It is a rare condition requiring urgent surgery.

[Ultrasonographic diagnosis of penile fracture].

open access: yesArchivio italiano di urologia, andrologia : organo ufficiale [di] Societa italiana di ecografia urologica e nefrologica, 2002
Penile fracture is a serious urological condition that requires surgical repair. We report a case of a penile fracture after traumatic event where sonography was performed and demonstrated the exact site of the rupture in the tunica albuginea and the urethral integrity.

Water‐in‐oil emulsion templating of isocyanates: end‐capping, foaming, porous structures and cell growth

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Emulsion‐templated and foamed highly interconnected, porous, biodegradable poly(urethane urea) monoliths from isocyanate end‐capped polyols (polycaprolactone or polylactide) or a lysine‐derived diisocyanate exhibited cell growth with potential for tissue engineering applications.

Comparison of Surface Features of Ceramic and Ti‐Based Dental Implants

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
The roughness values of ceramic implants are slightly higher than of the titanium machined sample and significantly lower than of sandblasted implants. The observed structures, along with the roughness values, could enhance the osseointegration of the 3D printed ceramic implants.

Penile Fracture: Delayed Presentation, Primary Urethral Repair and Satisfactory Outcome

open access: yesCase Reports in Urology, 2019
Penile fracture is a relatively rare condition warranting emergency intervention. The commonest etiological factor remains coital activities, which explains why it is being underreported.

Dynamic Liposome Sensing Platform to Wirelessly Ensure Nucleic Acid Encapsulation via Non‐Contact Perception

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Inspired by the Ampullae of Lorenzini in elasmobranch fish, a biomimetic electroreceptor platform is developed using an electret layer‐coated single‐walled carbon nanotube thin‐film transistor (eSWCNT‐TFT). This platform enables non‐contact, label‐free, and real‐time monitoring of DNA encapsulation efficiency in liposome droplets by detecting net ...

Penile Fracture with Complete Urethral Rupture

open access: yesAsian Journal of Surgery, 2003
We report a rare case of penile fracture with complete urethral rupture in a 25-year-old male who sustained the injury during sexual intercourse. He presented with a tense haematoma on the ventral aspect of the penile shaft, associated with per urethral bleeding. Despite the injury, he was able to void painfully.

MXene‐Based Flexible Memory and Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The unique two‐dimensional structure, excellent electrical conductivity, and diverse surface groups of MXenes have garnered significant attention. Coupled with their exceptional flexibility, MXene‐based devices hold immense potential for flexible memory and neuromorphic systems. This review comprehensively discusses the fundamentals of flexible devices,

High‐Performance, Roll‐to‐Roll Fabricated Scaffold‐Supported Solid Electrolyte Separator for Practical All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A scalable scaffold‐supported solid electrolyte separator (SES) with a thickness of 27 µm and high ionic conductance is fabricated via laser drilling and tape casting. Mechanical and multiphysics simulations guide the design of the porous scaffold.
