Allogeneic Immune Cell Perfusion Inhibits the Growth of Vascularized 3D In Vitro Tumor Models, Induces Vascular Regression and Desmoplasia, but Promotes Tumor Cell Invasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a vascularized 3D tumor model to investigate immune–stromal–tumor interactions under allogeneic PBMC perfusion. While immune cells induced tumor shrinkage, they also promoted vascular regression, stromal activation, and cancer cell invasion.

The Effect of Bupivacaine on the Efficacy of Antibiotic Coating on Penile Implants in Preventing Infection

open access: yesSexual Medicine, 2019
Background: In an effort to reduce dependence on opioids following inflatable penile prosthesis placement, intra-operative soaking of the implant in Bupivacaine (BUP) has been proposed as part of a multimodal approach to pain control.

Multimodal Optical Imaging and Modulation with Simultaneous Electrophysiology Through Smart Dura in Non‐Human Primates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates multimodal integration in non‐human primates, combining large‐scale, high‐density electrophysiology using Smart Dura with optical techniques such as multiphoton imaging (MPI), photothrombotic lesioning, optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), wide‐field intrinsic signal optical imaging (ISOI), and optogenetics.

Outcome and erectile function following treatment of priapism: An institutional experience

open access: yesUrology Annals, 2016
Introduction: Priapism has a devastating consequence on the sexual function of men if not promptly managed. We are presenting our experience of the treatment of priapism and the status of sexual function even following successful detumescence achieved ...

MISPLACED MANDATE: AN EXAMINATION OF FDA'S SILICONE BREAST IMPLANT POLICY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Why did the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) suddenly call for a forty-five day moratorium on silicone gel breast implants in 1 992 and then ban virtually all cosmetic breast implants' only months after an FDA advisory panel had recommended that ...

A history of penile implants

open access: yesTranslational Andrology and Urology, 2017
Erectile dysfunction (ED) has long been described by physicians and patients, with treatments for ED proposed starting in the 8th century BC. In the last 50 years, however, there have been many advances in medical and surgical management of ED, notably the introduction of the inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) in 1973 and phosphodiesterase type 5 ...

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

PENIS ENLARGEMENT USING SILICONE SHELL IMPLANTS

open access: yesВестник урологии, 2016
. To date, the vast majority of penis thickening techniques based on the patient's own tissue. Methods with synthetic autotransplants are often inefficient, or accompanied by a large number of complications. In the article the technique of thickening the

Radical‐Mediated, Substrate‐Independent Fabrication of Hybrid Solid–Hydrogel Materials With Tunable Crosslinking: An Initiator‐ and Crosslinker‐Free Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a substrate‐independent, reagent‐free plasma strategy that forms radical‐rich interlayers for covalent hydrogel attachment without initiators or crosslinkers. The long‐lived radicals drive in situ gelation, creating robust, cytocompatible hybrid solid–hydrogel constructs across diverse substrates.

Penile implant.

open access: yesAnnals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, 1996
This paper reviews the various types of penile prostheses currently available in clinical practice. The advantages and disadvantages of each type of prosthesis are discussed. Practical factors to be considered in choosing the type of prosthesis offered to a patient are emphasised. The paper provides an outline of the important steps in the implantation
