Penile body temperature as screening test for penile arterial obstruction in impotence

Urology, 1981
Intraurethral penile body temperature measurement is a simple, inexpensive procedure designed for screening impotent patients which can be done in the physician's office. The results give a reliable index of penile arterial circulation and can suggest possible organic impairment, which can be verified further by other noninvasive vascular studies.

Is penile electrocautery safe?: II. Temperature assessment in a pediatric computational model

SPIE Proceedings, 2001
Electrocautery in pediatric penile procedures is modeled with the finite element method. Both the electromagnetic power deposition and heat transport due to thermal conduction and blood flow are considered. Anatomical geometry in the region of interest is derived from MR scans of a pediatric penile case.

Is penile electrocautery safe?: I. Histological and computational temperature assessment in an animal model

SPIE Proceedings, 2001
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the thermal and tissue changes associated with the use of electrocautery hemostasis on dependent tissues such as the penis. Circumcision was performed on twelve male sheep using a Gomco clamp and surgical removal.

Does climate impact inflatable penile prosthesis infection (IPP) risk? Assessment of temperature and dew point on IPP infections

The Journal of Sexual Medicine
Abstract Background Variations in climate have been associated with a greater risk of surgical site infections, urinary tract infections, and changes in the skin microbiome; however, limited data exist on the impact of climate on inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) infections.

(877) A Comparison of fNIRS and Temperature Measurement of Penile Tumescence in Normal Subjects

The Journal of Sexual Medicine
Abstract Introduction Penile tumescence is a major concern following Radical Prostatectomy (RP). We have reported on the use of electrical stimulation of the S2-S4 nerve roots as a method to elicit tumescence during RP. Associated with tumescence is an increase in penile temperature.
