The occurrence of calcification or ossification in the human penis is relatively rare. In the majority of cases the presence of such calcium or bone is the result of local trauma or plastic induration of the penis (Peyronie's disease). Rarely a so-called “os penis” has been reported in the human.

Schwannomas may occur anywhere in the body, but their occurrence in the penis is rare and unusual. These tumors are important to urologists because findings mimic other urologic disease. Treatment is surgical removal; they are rarely multifocal and seldom metastasize. A patient with schwannomas of the penis is described.

Cancer of the penis is rare in Europe, accounting for less than 0.5% of all cancers. Phimosis and poor hygiene are strong risk factors whereas neonatal circumcision is a contributing factor in the prevention of this disease. More than 95% of penile carcinomas are squamous cell carcinomas.
