Energy level diagrams of C60/pentacene/Au and pentacene/C60/Au

Synthetic Metals, 2006
Abstract The electronic structures of pentacene and C60 interfaces were investigated using ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The magnitudes of measured interface dipole were 0.11 eV and 0.07 eV for the C60 deposited on pentacene (C60/pentacene) and the pentacene deposited on C60 (pentacene/C60 ...

Pentacene-Based Dendrimers: Synthesis and Thin Film Photoconductivity Measurements of Branched Pentacene Oligomers

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
The synthesis of pentacene-based dendrimers has been achieved via esterification of 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid and unsymmetrical pentacene 4 possessing a hydroxy group. Dendrimers 1 (C(183)H(204)O(9)Si(9), 2800 g mol(-1)) and 2 (C(540)H(570)O(30)Si(24), 8214 g mol(-1)) are characterized by (1)H and (13)C NMR, IR, UV-vis, and fluorescence ...

Pentacene based photovoltaic devices

Synthetic Metals, 2001
Photovoltaic diodes based on iodine- and bromine-doped pentacene single crystals as well as thin films (TFs) have been prepared. Two different device structures, a Schottky diode with a Mg/Al back contact and a heterojunction with a ZnO:Al window layer, are investigated.

N-sulfinylcarbamate-pentacene adduct: A novel pentacene precursor soluble in alcohols

Synthetic Metals, 2005
A novel pentacene precursor was synthesized by Diels-Alder reaction of pentacene and N-sulfinylbutylcarbamate. The adduct is highly soluble in isopropyl and higher alcohols and moderately soluble in ethanol and methanol. This precursor undergoes retro-Diels-Alder reaction in solid phase at low temperatures to give pentacene.

Growth dynamics of pentacene thin films

Nature, 2001
The recent demonstration of single-crystal organic optoelectronic devices has received widespread attention. But practical applications of such devices require the use of inexpensive organic films deposited on a wide variety of substrates. Unfortunately, the physical properties of these organic thin films do not compare favourably to those of single ...
