Aryl substitution of pentacenes [PDF]

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
A series of 11 new pentacene derivatives has been synthesized, with unsymmetrical substitution based on a trialkylsilylethynyl group at the 6-position and various aryl groups appended to the 13-position.

Exciton Dynamics in MoS2-Pentacene and WSe2-Pentacene Heterojunctions [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2022
We measured the exciton dynamics in van der Waals heterojunctions of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and organic semiconductors (OSs). TMDCs and OSs are semiconducting materials with rich and highly diverse optical and electronic properties. Their heterostructures, exhibiting van der Waals bonding at their interfaces, can be utilized in the ...

Modeling the Polymorphism of Pentacene [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2003
Thin films of pentacene are known to crystallize in at least four different polymorphs. All polymorphs are layered structures that are characterized by their interlayer spacing d(001). We develop a model that rationalizes the size of the interlayer spacing in terms of intralayer shifts of the pentacene molecules along their long molecular axes.

Strain-induced thermoelectricity in pentacene

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2022
The present work discusses a non-synthetic strategy to achieve a favorable thermoelectric response in pentacene via strain.

Dynamics of Frenkel Excitons in Pentacene [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2018
The dispersion relation for noninteracting excitons and the influence of perturbative corrections are examined in the case of pentacene structure. The values of exchange integrals are determined by nonlinear fits to the experimental dispersion data, obtained by the inelastic electron scattering reported in recent experiments.

Momentum dependence of the excitons in pentacene [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2012
We have carried out electron energy-loss investigations of the lowest singlet excitons in pentacene at 20 K. Our studies allow to determine the full exciton band structure in the a*, b* reciprocal lattice plane. The lowest singlet exciton can move coherently within this plane, and the resulting exciton dispersion is highly anisotropic.

A Large Starphene Comprising Pentacene Branches [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2021
AbstractStarphenes are attractive compounds due to their characteristic physicochemical properties that are inherited from acenes, making them interesting compounds for organic electronics and optics. However, the instability and low solubility of larger starphene homologs make their synthesis extremely challenging.

Study the Spectral Properties of the Molecule [Pentacene (C22H14)] by Using Semi-empirical Quantum Programs

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2018
The Study aims to determine the spectral properties of the molecule pentacene (C22H14) by using Semi-empirical quantum programs [Hyper Chem8.0, WinMopac7.21] by (MNDO–PM3) (Modified Neglect of Differential Overlap-Parameterization Model3).

Growth of Pentacene-Doped p-Terphenyl Crystals Using SSVBT and Doping Effects in p-Terphenyl Molecular Crystals

open access: yesCrystals, 2022
High-quality pentacene-doped p-terphenyl bulk crystals were grown by the selective self-seeding vertical Bridgman technique (SSVBT). The lattice structure and crystal properties of the samples of different doping concentrations and their relations with p-

Observation of hole injection boost via two parallel paths in Pentacene thin-film transistors by employing Pentacene: 4, 4″-tris(3-methylphenylphenylamino) triphenylamine: MoO3 buffer layer

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2014
Pentacene organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) were prepared by introducing 4, 4″-tris(3-methylphenylphenylamino) triphenylamine (m-MTDATA): MoO3, Pentacene: MoO3, and Pentacene: m-MTDATA: MoO3 as buffer layers.
