Raman spectra of crystalline pentaerythritol and pentaerythritol-d4

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1971
Abstract Polarized Raman spectra of single crystals of C(CH2OH)4 and C(CH2OD)4 were measured and a vibrational assignment based on this data and infrared spectral data is proposed. Coupling between the OH and OD deformation modes and other vibrations of the molecule were studied.

Metabolism of pentaerythritol trinitrate

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1977
The absorption, excretion, and biotransformation of 14C‐labeled pentaerythritol (PE) trinitrate was studied in man. The administration of a single sublingual dose was followed by rapid absorption and extensive biotransformation. Six drug metabolites were identified.

Crystallisation of pentaerythritol

Journal of Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology, 1974
AbstractGrowth measurements were made of pentaerythritol crystals in both fluidised beds and stirred suspensions. The measurements were made in both the presence and absence of the two by‐product impurities known to be normally present in the commercial material.

Pentaerythritol-based metallodendrimers

New Journal of Chemistry, 1998
Two new pentaerythritol-functionalised 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine (tpy) derivatives have been prepared. One contains four tpy metal-binding domains, whereas the other contains one tpy domain and three pendant CH2OH groups. The combination of these components with ruthenium-containing building blocks has allowed the specific and stepwise synthesis of ...

Crystal growth kinetics of pentaerythritol

The Chemical Engineering Journal and the Biochemical Engineering Journal, 1995
Abstract The growth kinetics of pentaerythritol (PE) in aqueous solutions were determined from batch and continuous experiments; growth rate values about two orders of magnitude lower were obtained operating in batch mode. This behaviour, which agrees with previous results reported by various authors, validates the hypothesis that some impurity ...

Optical Rotation of Achiral Pentaerythritol

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2006
The optical rotatory power of achiral crystals of achiral pentaerythritol molecules was measured. The maximum rotations were found to be +/-6 degrees /mm. The quantum mechanically computed rotation of pentaerythritol molecules using linear response theory was 6 times larger although the experimental and theoretical tensors were similarly oriented to ...

Solubility of dimethyl ether in pentaerythritol tetrabutyrate and in pentaerythritol tetrapentanoate. Comparison with other pentaerythritol tetraalkyl esters

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2015
Abstract The solubilities of dimethyl ether (DME) in pentaerythritol tetrabutyrate (PEC4) and in pentaerythritol tetrapentanoate (PEC5) between T  = (283.15 and 353.15) K have been measured by isochoric saturation method. The experimental solubility data were correlated by the Peng–Robinson equation of state with HVOS mixing rule in which the excess

Tricarboranyl Pentaerythritol-Based Building Block

Inorganic Chemistry, 2006
A new tricarborane building block based on pentaerythritol was prepared for applications in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). Its X-ray single-crystal structure revealed a high degree of steric congestion. To enable the attachment of the building block to other moieties, a succinimidyl linker has been introduced at the focal point, and a generation-

Pentaerythritol.

1997
The committee recommends a health based occupational exposure limit for pentaerythritol of 10 mg/m3 as inhalable dust and 5 mg/m3 as respirable dust. These values are to be interpreted as 8 hour time-weighted averages.
