High-Temperature, High-Pressure Viscosities and Densities of n-Hexadecane, 2,2,4,4,6,8,8-Heptamethylnonane, and Squalane Measured Using a Universal Calibration for a Rolling-Ball Viscometer/Densimeter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The development of reference correlations for viscous fluids is predicated on the availability of accurate viscosity data, especially at high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) conditions.

Self‐Immolative Gels: Programmable Degradation Using Self‐Immolative Linkers and Polymers

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Self‐immolative linkers and polymers undergo bond‐cleaving reaction cascades in response to specific stimuli. Their incorporation into gels can be harnessed to release cargo, induce property changes, or trigger degradation in a highly controlled manner. These functions can be employed in applications such as sensing and drug delivery.

Reaction-Diffusion Degradation Model for Delayed Erosion of Cross-Linked Polyanhydride Biomaterials

open access: yes, 2015
We develop a theoretical model to explain the long induction interval of water intake that precedes the onset of erosion due to degradation caused by hydrolysis in the recently synthesized and studied cross-linked polyanhydrides.

Optimization of cut‐hole layout under high in situ stress based on numerical simulation and field tests

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates the blast‐induced rock damage patterns under different cut‐hole layouts and ground stress conditions through numerical simulations and field tests. The findings in this study provide valuable insights for similar underground engineering applications.

Lubricant and additive effects on spur gear fatigue life [PDF]

open access: yes
Spur gear endurance tests were conducted with six lubricants using a single lot of consumable-electrode vacuum melted (CVM) AISI 9310 spur gears. The sixth lubricant was divided into four batches each of which had a different additive content. Lubricants

Crystal Orientation Regulation and Dynamic Protection via Dual Interface Engineering for Dendrite‐Free Zinc Deposition

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A dual‐interface engineering strategy is innovatively proposed to achieve dendrite‐free Zn anodes through crystallographic orientation regulation and adaptive interfacial protection. By pre‐coating eco‐friendly di‐pentaerythritol, horizontal growth of ZHS along the (001) plane is induced, which in turn guides epitaxial Zn deposition on the (002) plane.

Simulation and experimental study on the method for reducing the pour point of pentaerythritol ester

open access: yesHigh Voltage
The low temperature flow properties of synthetic esters were investigated based on molecular dynamics simulations, and the influence of the molecular structure of pentaerythritol esters on the pour point was explored. When the carbon number and parity of
