Inflammation‐Regeneration Axis of Dental Pulp Stem Cells: Wnt/NF‐κB Crosstalk

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 59, Issue 9, Page 1743-1759, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Inflammation critically determines dental pulp regenerative outcomes, with dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) orchestrating tissue homeostasis through differentiation, self‐renewal and immunomodulation processes dynamically regulated by Wnt/β‐catenin and NF‐κB signaling crosstalk.

Inducing Antigen‐Specific and Functional Immune Responses in Mice Toward Bovine Herpesvirus 1 and Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus by Chimeric Peptides Delivered by Bovine Herpesvirus 4‐Based Vector

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 179, Issue 1, Page 54-71, September 2026.
Bovine Alphaherpesvirus 1 (BoHV‐1) and Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) are major drivers of respiratory disease in cattle. (A) To target both pathogens, two chimeric antigens—membrane‐linked and secreted—combining BoHV‐1 glycoprotein D and BRSV fusion glycoprotein were designed and expressed using recombinant BoHV‐4‐based vectors.

Occupational Therapy Services Provided to Adults Diagnosed With Kidney Disease: A Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Renal Care, Volume 52, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease and treatment have a severe and detrimental impact on life participation, reducing independence, autonomy, physical and cognitive function requiring a multidisciplinary approach. Occupational therapists have comprehensive skills in enabling independence and quality of life, yet the role in a kidney team is ...

Talking therapies for anxiety and depression in people affected by dementia: A scoping meta‐review

open access: yesPsychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice, Volume 99, Issue 3, Page 870-890, September 2026.
Abstract Background Symptoms of anxiety and depression are common in people affected by dementia (people with dementia and family carers). There are many reviews of psychological interventions to reduce stress and distress in people with dementia and family carers, but little cross‐fertilisation with the evidence base underpinning NHS Talking Therapies

Protein–Protein Interactions Between Peptidoglycan, Lipopolysaccharide, and Phospholipid Biosynthesis Enzymes in Escherichia coli

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
MurA, the first peptidoglycan biosynthesis enzyme, interacts with essential proteins involved in lipopolysaccharide and phospholipid biogenesis and is associated with the LapB interactome. Gram‐negative bacteria are protected by a three‐layered cell envelope and must tightly coordinate the biosynthesis of phospholipids (PL), peptidoglycan (PG) and ...

Carbon Dots for Cancer Theranostics: Synthesis Strategies, Luminescence Properties, and Advances in Bioimaging‐Guided Diagnosis and Therapy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 30, 13 August 2026.
Lighting up the path to precision oncology: This review comprehensively summarizes the rational design of carbon dots (CDs), elucidating how core size, surface chemistry, and heteroatom doping dictate their luminescence mechanisms. Special emphasis is placed on engineering NIR‐II emissive CDs for deep‐tissue imaging.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 600, Issue 15, Page 2175-2192, August 2026.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Where to Q in PEP

Psychophysiology, 2004
AbstractThe onset of ventricular depolarization defines the start of the preejection period (PEP), which is commonly used as an index of myocardial contractility and sympathetic control of the heart. Although the fiducial point for this onset has traditionally been the onset of the Q wave of the electrocardiogram, other measurement points have also ...

Doxycycline PEP can induce doxycycline resistance in Klebsiella pneumoniae in a Galleria mellonella model of PEP

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
Background Four randomized controlled trials have now established that doxycycline post exposure (sex) prophylaxis (PEP) can reduce the incidence of chlamydia and syphilis in men who have sex with men.
