Calmodulin‐Like Protein MfCML50 Interacts With Carveol Dehydrogenase in Medicago falcata to Regulate Cold Tolerance Through Mediating ROS Homeostasis

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Low temperature triggers Ca2+ signalling and reprogramming of gene expression and metabolism in plants. However, how the Ca2+ signal is transduced to the downstream metabolic pathways remains unknown. The involvement of a cold‐induced calmodulin‐like protein, MfCML50, from Medicago falcata in regulation of cold tolerance was examined in the ...

Therapeutic effect of NEO400, perillyl alcohol conjugated to linoleic acid, in a mouse model of UV‐induced skin damage

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 338-349, March/April 2025.
In the present work with mouse models, we demonstrate that a novel compound, NEO400, is able to profoundly protect skin against damage caused by UV radiation (UVR) when it is applied to skin post‐UVR exposure. In comparison, Aloe vera or linoleic acid are unable to achieve a similar level of protection.

Inhibitory Effect of Lidocaine on Duodenal Peristalsis During Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography: A Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Trial (With Video)

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Conventional antispasmodics used during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), such as hyoscine butylbromide and glucagon, are often contraindicated in elderly patients with comorbidities. This trial aimed to assess the efficacy of lidocaine for inhibiting duodenal peristalsis during ERCP.

Simultaneous extraction of phenolics and essential oil from peppermint by pressurized hot water extraction [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Food Science and Technology, 2018
Phenolics and essential oil of peppermint were obtained by pressurized hot water extraction (PHWE). The best extraction conditions were found to be 130 °C for temperature, 10 min for extraction time, and 3 cycles for extraction number. There were no statistically significant differences between 130 and 160 °C in terms of essential oil content.

Effect of fertilizer nitrogen on biomass yield and nitrous oxide gas emissions in peppermint in Nebraska

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Peppermint (Mentha piperita) is a perennial herb valued for its menthol‐rich oil and requires high nitrogen (N) inputs for its irrigated production. Optimizing N management can reduce nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions, a potent greenhouse gas associated with fertilizer N input.

Practical Applications of Secondary/Extractive Electrospray Ionization (SESI): A Versatile Tool for Real‐Time Chemical Analysis

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 45, Issue 2, Page 392-428, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT In the 1980s, researchers discovered the remarkable ability of electrospray plumes to effectively ionize gas‐phase molecules via secondary ionization. Around 20 years later—coinciding with the ambient mass spectrometry revolution—secondary electrospray ionization (SESI) and extractive electrospray ionization (EESI) coupled to mass spectrometry
