Casting Metal Nanowires Within Discrete Self-Assembled Peptide Nanotubes
Science, 2003Tubular nanostructures are suggested to have a wide range of applications in nanotechnology. We report our observation of the self-assembly of a very short peptide, the Alzheimer's β-amyloid diphenylalanine structural motif, into discrete and stiff ...

Peptide Vaccines and Peptide Therapeutics [PDF]
Peptide vaccines and Peptide therapeutics are increasingly entering into the focus of pharmaceutical companies. This section is intended to give a broad overview of areas of law that are particularly relevant to the patenting of peptide vaccines and therapeutic peptides as products and in compositions.

Searching for peptide ligands with an epitope library.
Science, 1990Tens of millions of short peptides can be easily surveyed for tight binding to an antibody, receptor or other binding protein using an "epitope library." The library is a vast mixture of filamentous phage clones, each displaying one peptide sequence on ...

PEPTIDE–WATER ASSOCIATION IN PEPTIDE CRYSTALS
International Journal of Peptide and Protein Research, 1979The structures of 37 peptide crystals, containing 78 water‐peptide hydrogen bonds and 77 other hydrogen bonds involving water, were surveyed to identify the geometry of peptide backbone hydration. In the sample, hydration of peptide carbonyl occurred more frequently than hydration of peptide N–H. The most probable value of the C'=0.

Non-peptide ligands for peptide receptors
Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, 1989Considerable progress has been made in synthesizing peptide analogs with improved stability for probing function of peptide-receptor systems. However, since peptide ligands are usually unsuitable for development as potent orally active long-duration therapeutic agents, considerable research effort is being directed to the development of non-peptidal ...
