Differential sensitivity to SHH signaling and neural crest‐mediated Gas1 expression regulate jaw size during development and evolution

Abstract Background Developmental control of jaw size is crucial to prevent birth defects and facilitate evolutionary adaptation. We have shown that jaw size is established by neural crest mesenchyme (NCM), which are progenitor cells that migrate into the mandibular primordia and produce the jaws.

Diarylethene‐Containing Photoswitchable Analogues of Tubulysins—Design, Synthesis, Biological, and Structural Evaluation

Diarylethene‐containing cyclic tubulysin analogues were designed, synthesized, and evaluated as light‐responsive cytotoxic agents. One analogue showed reversible photoswitching, photoregulated tubulin polymerization inhibition, and photoform‐dependent cytotoxicity.

Genetic variants of EcPV2 E6 and E7 in equine genital and oronasal squamous cell carcinoma

Abstract Background Since its discovery in 2008, equine papillomavirus type 2 (EcPV2) has been detected in up to 100% of equine genital and up to 40% of equine oronasal squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). Preliminary sequence data point to the existence of EcPV2 E6 and E7 oncogene variants compared to the British reference sequence from 2008.

Structural and Functional Stability of Natural Actomyosin From Freshwater Snail (Bellamya bengalensis): Unraveling Thermal and pH Effects

Natural actomyosin from B. bengalensis exhibited maximum solubility (∼69.9%) at 40°C and stability near neutral pH, with minimum solubility at pH 4. Surface hydrophobicity and emulsifying activity peaked at 50°C, whereas Ca2+‐ATPase and foaming peaked at 40°C. DSC and SDS–PAGE confirmed denaturation above 40°C.
