On fidelity per unit cost [PDF]
We consider source coding with a fidelity criterion, channel coding with a channel input constraint, and the combined problem of reproducing a source across a noisy channel. All three cases face a similar tradeoff between resource and performance, and the operating point with the highest performance per resource is of particular interest.

Catch and value per unit effort.
Plot of the species-specific mean catch per unit effort (CPUE: in pieces of catch per trip) and value per unit effort (VPUE: TSZ per trip) for 55 trips undertaken by scuba diving fishing teams during high (December) and low (May) season in Zanzibar ...

The amount of heat input to the weld per unit length and per unit volume
Abstract This paper presents a comparative analysis of heat input per unit length and per unit volume for selected methods of welding. The purpose of the analysis is to assess the usability of calculating heat input per volume unit. The interpretation of heat input per unit length according to the standards: QW-409.1 of ASME IX, EN ISO ...

Dundee Discussion Papers in Economics 245:Growth rate estimation in the presence of unit roots [PDF]
This study addresses the issue of the presence of a unit root on the growth rate estimation by the least-squares approach. We argue that when the log of a variable contains a unit root, i.e., it is not stationary then the growth rate estimate from the ...

Is Per Capita Real GDP Stationary? Evidence from Selected African Countries Based on More Powerful Nonlinear (Logistic) Unit Root Tests [PDF]
In this study we use a more powerful nonlinear (logistic) unit root test advanced by Leybourne et al. (1998) to investigate the time-series propertities of per capita real GDP for 26 selected African countries for the period 1960-2000. We strongly reject
