Benzyltriphenylphosphonium perchlorate [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2011
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(25)H(22)P(+)·ClO(4) (-), contains two independent cations and two independent anions. The closest inter-molecular contact is a weak inter-molecular C-H⋯π(arene) inter-action.

Transcriptional response to prolonged perchlorate exposure in the methanogen Methanosarcina barkeri and implications for Martian habitability

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Observations of trace methane (CH4) in the Martian atmosphere are significant to the astrobiology community given the overwhelming contribution of biological methanogenesis to atmospheric CH4 on Earth.

DL-Asparaginium perchlorate [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2009
Two enantiomeric counterparts (l- and d-asparginium cations related by glide planes) are present in the structure of the title compound, C4H9N2O3+·ClO4−, with a 1:1 cation–anion ratio. The structure is built up from asparginium cations and perchlorate anions. In the crystal, mol ecules assemble in double layers parallel to (100) through N H · O, O

4-Butylanilinium perchlorate [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2011
In the crystal structure of the title salt, C(10)H(16)N(+)·ClO(4) (-), the 4-butyl-anilinium cation is mirror symmetric, the butyl C atoms and anilinium N atom and 1,4-position C atoms of the benzene ring being located on the mirror plane; the perchlorate anion is also mirror symmetric, with two O atoms and one Cl atom lying on the mirror plane ...

Highly Efficient Destruction of Perchlorate to Nontoxic Chloride Ion (Cl-) from Aqueous Solutions by Bimetallic Fe/Ni Nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2021
In this work, stabilized Ni/Fe bimetallic nanoparticles (S-Ni/Fe NPs) were synthesized in the presence of starch as the stabilizing agent and characterized by FE-SEM, EDS, and XRD.

Hexacarbonyltechnetium(I) perchlorate [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2008
The title compound, [Tc(CO)6]ClO4, was synthesized by the reaction of [TcCl(CO)5] with AgClO4, followed by acidification with HClO4 under a CO atmosphere. The [Tc(CO)6]+ cation has close to idealized octahedral geometry, with the bond angles between cis-CO groups close to 90° and the Tc—C bond lengths in the range 2.025 (3)–2.029 (3)Å.

2-Chloroanilinium perchlorate [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2012
In the crystal of the title compound, C(6)H(7)ClN(+)·ClO(4) (-), a layer-like structure parallel to the bc plane is formed through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions. These layers are connected by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

[Editorial] Habitability Beyond Earth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The question of whether Earth is a unique location for life remains one of the most enduring questions of our time. Geochemical data suggests that habitable environments may exist, or may have existed, elsewhere in the Solar System with promising targets
