Morphological and molecular study of Neorhadinorhynchus nudus (Harada, 1938) (Acanthocephala: Cavisomidae) from Auxis thazard Lacepede (Perciformes: Scombridae) in the South China Sea

Acta Parasitologica, 2018
In the present study, Neorhadinorhynchus nudus (Harada, 1938) is reported from the frigate tuna Auxis thazard (Lacepède) (Perciformes: Scombridae), in the South China Sea for the first time. The detailed morphology of N. nudus was studied using light and

A revision of the Emmelichthyidae (Pisces : Perciformes)

Marine and Freshwater Research, 1977
The marine fish family Emmelichthyidae is redefined to include only the genera Emmelichthys (four species), Erythrocles (four species) and Plagiogeneion (two species). Two new species of Emmelichthys from the Pacific Ocean are described. Emmelichthys nitidus Richardson is divided into two subspecies: E.

Phylogenetic position of the family Trichodontidae (Teleostei: Perciformes), with a revised classification of the perciform suborder Cottoidei

Ichthyological Research, 2005
The phylogenetic relationships of the family Trichodontidae and suborder Cottoidei (and zoarcoid Bathymasteridae) are reconstructed morphologically. The monophyly of the Trichodontidae, Cottoidei, and Zoarcoidei is unambiguously supported by 14 synapomorphies, including 1 newly recognized (and also 4 synapomorphies when ACCTRAN is accepted).

Taxonomic revisions within Embiotocidae (Teleostei, Perciformes) based on molecular phylogenetics.

Zootaxa, 2018
Embiotocidae, a unique family within the Perciformes that has evolved a complex viviparous natural history, has lacked full resolution and strong support in several interspecific relationships until recently.

Cytotaxonomical consideration of the genusBlennius (pisces-perciformes)

Experientia, 1975

Molecular Phylogeny and Speciation of the Surfperches (Embiotocidae, Perciformes)

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 1999
Labroid fishes include a variety of families, such as wrasses (Labridae), odacids (Odacidae), damselfishes (Pomacentridae), parrotfishes (Scaridae), cichlids (Cichlidae), and surfperches (Embiotocidae). With only 23 species, the small embiotocid family exhibits a remarkably low species diversity compared to the large species diversity of the Cichlidae.

Phylogenetic relationships of the stromateoid fishes (Perciformes)

Ichthyological Research, 2004
The phylogenetic relationships of all 16 genera (plus Psenes pellucidus) of the suborder Stromateoidei were estimated cladistically based on 43 osteological, myological, and external characters. Thirty equally parsimonious trees were obtained. Based on the strict consensus tree, Centrolophidae was nonmonophyletic, Psenopsis being placed as a sister ...

The Perciform Caudal Skeleton

Copeia, 1961
primarily one of progressive simplification from an original complex of rather numerous independent bones (e.g., in Elops, Hollister, 1936:261, fig. 14). This progressive simplification has occurred independently in a large number of lineages both within and below the perciform level of structural organization.

Spatial and temporal distribution patterns of the silver mojarra Eucinostomus argenteus (Perciformes: Gerreidae) in a tropical semi-enclosed bay.

Journal of Fish Biology, 2016
This study determined the spatial and temporal distributions of the silver mojarra Eucinostomus argenteus (Perciformes: Gerreidae), one of the most abundant teleost species in bays and estuaries. Sampling was conducted from July 2005 to June 2007.
