A Mobile Application for Driver's Drowsiness Monitoring based on PERCLOS Estimation

IEEE Latin America Transactions, 2019
Vehicular accidents caused by driver drowsiness involve about 7,000 people/year in Brazil, only on federal highways, and cause psychic damage and traumatic stresses for both the victims involved and their families. Drowsiness is characterized by reduced level of vigilance and concentration, which are essential during driving activity.

A PERCLOS Method for Fine Characterization of Behaviour Circadian Rhythm

2020
Objective To establish a measurement method of the percentage of eyelid closure over the pupil over time (PERCLOS) to finely characterize behaviour circadian rhythm. Methods A computer program was designed based on multitask convolutional neural network for the treatment of videos to get PERCLOS quantitative values.

Hardware Design of Fatigue Detection System Based on PERCLOS

2011 Third International Conference on Multimedia Information Networking and Security, 2011
In order to resolve crashed accidents caused by fatigue or drowsiness various fatigue detecting algorithms are investigated. Aiming at the needs of large data, high transfer rate and complex operation, in this paper, we design a fatigue detection algorithm based on PERCLOS, moreover, design AVT Guppy F-080 C camera and 1394 cards as the core hardware ...

Efficient PERCLOS and Gaze Measurement Methodologies to Estimate Driver Attention in Real Time

2014 5th International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation, 2014
Drivers not being cautious enough is one of the major reasons for many of today's fatal road accidents. Drivers being fatigued or distracted have been identified as the main two reasons behind drivers losing their attention. PERCLOS and gaze estimation are two visual cue based parameters which can be used to estimate driver drowsiness and distraction ...

Real-Time Driver Drowsiness Detection System Based on PERCLOS and Grayscale Image Processing

2016 International Symposium on Computer, Consumer and Control (IS3C), 2016
This study develops a real-time drowsiness detection system based on grayscale image processing and PERCLOS to determine if the driver is fatigued. The proposed system comprises three parts: first, it calculates the approximate position of the driver's face in grayscale images, and then uses a small template to analyze the eye positions, second, it ...

Comprehensive Driver State Recognition Based on Deep Learning and PERCLOS Criterion

2019 IEEE 19th International Conference on Communication Technology (ICCT), 2019
This system is mainly used for driver’s mental state identification. It is concerned with deep learning technology. Deep convolutional neural network and face feature point processing method are adopted to analyze the driver’s face information. The system also uses information comprehensive decision-making to analyze, so as to identify the driver’s ...

A PERCLOS-Based Driver Fatigue Recognition Application for Smart Vehicle Space

2010 Third International Symposium on Information Processing, 2010
The paper selected PERCLOS to evaluate driving fatigue after the comparison of various fatigue detection methods for smart vehicle space. We detected driver fatigue status by measuring the proportion of eyes closed in a certain period of time and the continued closure time.

The Study of Driver Fatigue Monitor Algorithm Combined PERCLOS and AECS

2008 International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering, 2008
In this paper, combined PERCLOS and AECS, we introduce an algorithm to detect the driver fatigue. The algorithm, based on color image skin color segment, can directly transforms the RGB form image to the gradation image by the skin color segmentation, and then the eyes is detected.

Fatigue driving detection system based on Perclos algorithm optimization

2022 International Conference on Human Machine Interaction (ICHMI), 2022
With the rapid economic development and the remote dispatch of materials during the epidemic, transportation is gradually "burnout", which increases the probability of traffic accidents. The main cause of traffic accidents is fatigue driving behavior, so
