Measurement of PERCLOS using eigen-eyes

2012 4th International Conference on Intelligent Human Computer Interaction (IHCI), 2012
Monitoring of the level vigilance in humans through human computer interaction has been a field of interest for image processing researchers for long time. Numerous activities carried out by humans require constant vigil over a period of time. A lack of alertness can lead to precious human life and/or economic losses.

Evaluation of PERCLOS based current fatigue monitoring technologies

2010 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology, 2010
In an overnight driving simulation study three commercially available devices of fatigue monitoring technologies (FMT) were applied to test their accuracy. 16 volunteers performed driving tasks during eight sessions (40 min each) separated by 15 minutes breaks.

PERCLOS+:Moving Beyond Single-Metric Drowsiness Monitors

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2008
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Assessing driver drowsiness and providing timely alerts is the basis for drowsy driver monitoring systems. Though technologies are available that claim to reliably provide this function, they tend to be single-metric systems that may not be sufficiently robust for real-world operation.

Driver fatigue detection based on head gesture and PERCLOS

2012 International Conference on Wavelet Active Media Technology and Information Processing (ICWAMTIP), 2012
Single mean is always used to detect driver fatigue, this paper propose an integrated fatigue detection system. Head gesture and eye condition are two important factors of fatigue. In this system, we use Adaboost improved with CART to detect face, and then the centroid of face is calculated to monitoring the head gesture.

Hardware Design of Fatigue Detection System Based on PERCLOS

2011 Third International Conference on Multimedia Information Networking and Security, 2011
In order to resolve crashed accidents caused by fatigue or drowsiness various fatigue detecting algorithms are investigated. Aiming at the needs of large data, high transfer rate and complex operation, in this paper, we design a fatigue detection algorithm based on PERCLOS, moreover, design AVT Guppy F-080 C camera and 1394 cards as the core hardware ...

Real time eye detection algorithm for PERCLOS calculation

2016 24th Signal Processing and Communication Application Conference (SIU), 2016
The traffic accidents is one of the important problems in our lives. The majority of traffic accidents are caused by inattentive or fatigue which is mostly related to drowsiness. An embedded and contactless system should be designed to deal with this problem in real world conditions.
