Integer-modulated filter banks providing perfect reconstruction
In this paper, we extend the perfect reconstruction conditions known for cosine modulation to other, more general modulation schemes. The modified PR conditions provide additional degrees of freedom which can be utilized to design integer-modulated ...

AES‐Debye: an accurate, efficient and scalable engine for Debye scattering calculations
AES‐Debye is an accurate, efficient and scalable engine for evaluating the Debye scattering equation that enables total scattering calculations for large atomistic models. Corrected pair‐distance binning and numerically robust accumulation suppress discretization artifacts, while parallel CPU/GPU execution enables efficient computation of scattering ...

Variable‐Rate Texture Compression: Real‐Time Rendering with JPEG
Abstract Although variable‐rate compressed image formats such as JPEG are widely used to efficiently encode images, they have not found their way into real‐time rendering due to special requirements such as random access to individual texels. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of variable‐rate texture compression on modern GPUs using the ...

On some new arithmetic functions involving prime divisors and perfect powers. [PDF]
Integer division and perfect powers play a central role in numerous mathematical results, especially in number theory. Classical examples involve perfect squares like in Pythagora’s theorem, or higher perfect powers as the conjectures of Fermat (solved ...

Non‐Rigid 3D Shape Correspondences: From Foundations to Open Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract Estimating correspondences between deformed shape instances is a long‐standing problem in computer graphics; numerous applications, from texture transfer to statistical modelling, rely on recovering an accurate correspondence map. Many methods have thus been proposed to tackle this challenging problem from varying perspectives, depending on ...

Multimodal Video Summarization Using Vision‐Language Embeddings and Hierarchical Temporal Modeling
Combining BLIP‐2 image captions with CLIP vision–language embeddings gives video frames semantic meaning that pixels alone cannot convey. Processed by a multi‐scale temporal U‐Net and hierarchical shot‐aware transformer, these multimodal features achieve a state‐of‐the‐art 59.27% F1‐score on SumMe using only 28.27M parameters.

Analysis of Eigenvalue Clustering Leads to Optimal Scaling in Numerical Radiative Transfer
ABSTRACT We consider a multidimensional polychromatic radiative transfer (RT) problem, accounting for scattering processes in a general form, that is, anisotropic (dipole) scattering with partial frequency redistribution. Given a discrete ordinates (SN$$ {S}_N $$) discretization, we report the corresponding matrix structures, depending on the model and

Generation of High Energy-Efficiency Perfect Gaussian Integer Sequences and OTFS Pilot Design
To enhance the channel estimation accuracy of orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) systems in high-mobility scenarios, a novel pilot design scheme based on high-energy-efficiency perfect Gaussian integer sequences (PGIS) was proposed.
