In pursuit of the perfect penis: Hypospadias repair outcomes
Journal of Pediatric Urology, 2017Hypospadias is commonly assessed and repaired by pediatric urologists. Mild, distal hypospadias is generally more a cosmetic problem than a functional one and is more frequently encountered than severe, proximal hypospadias. Outcomes following repair, especially of mild phenotypes, are important to understand, but range widely in timing and ...

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2013
Existing reliability models for repairable systems with a single component can be well applied for a range of repair actions from perfect repair to minimal repair. Establishing reliability models for multi-component repairable systems, however, is still a challenge problem when considering the dependency of component failures.

In this chapter, we begin with the study of repairable systems. Specifically, we study probabilistic models for systems which after failure are replaced by a new one exactly. We say then that the system operating state is restored to “as good as new” conditions after failure.

The Journal of Urology, 2002
Since its introduction, the Snodgrass hypospadias repair has been applied to virtually all forms of hypospadias repair. However, fistula rates have still been reported to be as high as 5% from large center, multiple surgeon studies and 16% from smaller center studies.

Availability of a periodically inspected system under perfect repair
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 2000The paper considers a system subject to failure which is monitored by a periodic inspection/renewal policy. Two different inspection/renewal policies are considered. Under policy \(A\) the system is renewed in each inspection point. If there is no failure the renewal is instantaneously, if there is a failure the renewal takes a constant time.

e-beam induced EUV photomask repair: a perfect match
SPIE Proceedings, 2010Due to the updated ITRS roadmap EUV might enter the market as a productive solution for the 32 nm node1. Since the EUV-photomask is used as mirror and no longer as transitive device the severity of different defect types has changed significantly. Furthermore the EUV-photomask material stack is much more complex than the conventional 193nm photomask

Small-Incision Mitral Valve Repair
Annals of Surgery, 2009To critically evaluate an initial experience with small-incision mitral valve operation with respect to safety, durability, and effectiveness.Mitral valve (MV) surgery is dominated by a sternotomy approach, with MV repair rates which average 60%. Advantages of valvular repair compared with replacement include lower operative and long-term mortality ...

Perfect self-repairing control for a kind of fault system
Proceedings of the 3rd World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (Cat. No.00EX393), 2002The concepts of perfection in a fault system are presented. The design of perfect self-repairing control laws for failures in actuators and in both actuators and sensors are given. The good self-repairing results show the methods are effective.

Positioning textile repair: viewing a culture of perfection through surface imperfections
2021The practice of early disposal and trigger-happy purchasing practices are examples of a seemingly illogical response to no longer desired products. Current behaviour toward surface and product imperfections is representative of an endemic issue in the development of negative attitudes and culture towards imperfection, in order to address negative ...
