Optimal overhaul intervals with imperfect inspection and repair

IMA Journal of Management Mathematics, 1998
Summary: This paper is motivated by the idea of a maintenance-free operating period whose objectives are to improve mission reliability and carry out as much maintenance as possible as a second-line activity. The system may be in one of three states (good, faulty, and failed), and expressions are developed for the average cost per unit time until ...

Optimal Allocation of Minimal & Perfect Repairs Under Resource Constraints

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2004
The effect of a repair of a complex system can usually be approximated by the following two types: minimal repair for which the system is restored to its functioning state with minimum effort, or perfect repair for which the system is replaced or repaired to a good-as-new state.

The Enduring Impact of Shape Following Perfect Coarctation of the Aorta Repair

World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery
Objectives: Aortic arch appearances can be associated with worse cardiac function and chronic hypertension late after coarctation of the aorta (CoA) repair, even without residual obstruction. Statistical shape modeling (SSM) has identified specific 3D arch shapes linked to poorer cardiovascular outcomes. We sought a mechanistic explanation.

An Analysis of Different Techniques for Distal Hypospadias Repair: The Price of Perfection

Journal of Urology, 1981
We discuss the risks of total surgical correction of distal hypospadias with chordee, review 42 such cases and analyze 4 common surgical procedures that were used. The over-all complication rate was 16.6 per cent (7 of 42), with 9.5 per cent (4 of 42) of the cases requiring addition urethral reconstruction.

[Microenvironment control is the only way to achieve perfect wound repair].

Zhonghua shao shang za zhi = Zhonghua shaoshang zazhi = Chinese journal of burns, 2020
With gradually in-depth understanding of wound healing mechanism, the concept and composition of wound microenvironment have been improved and clarified. In the process of wound healing, the external microenvironment and internal microenvironment are both relatively independent and interact with each other, and are always in dynamic change.
