Perforated Duodenal Ulcer and Pneumomediastinum
Radiology, 1977Two cases of anterior wall perforation of a duodenal ulcer, resulting in pneumomediastinum and pneumoperitoneum, are presented. The literature regarding perforation of the gastrointestinal tract with associated mediastinal emphysema is reviewed.

Pneumoperitoneum in perforated duodenal ulcer
The American Journal of Surgery, 1962Abstract In a series of ninety-four patients with proved perforated duodenal ulcer x-ray evidence of pneumoperitoneum was present in 66 per cent and absent in 34 per cent. The time interval between onset of symptoms and x-ray examination had no demonstrable effect on the presence or absence of free peritoneal air.

Perforating ulcer in a duodenal duplication
The American Journal of Surgery, 1971Abstract The case of a nine year old child with a duodenal duplication containing gastric mucosa and an acute, perforating ulcer is presented. Successful therapy consisted of resection of the duplication. Treatment of this lesion should be individualized. When resection is dangerous, internal drainage is acceptable.
