Traumatic Oesophageal Perforation [PDF]
Sixteen patients were treated for traumatic oesophageal perforation (13 cervical, 3 thoracic) over a 16-year period. In 14 cases the trauma was penetrating. The median delay from injury to treatment was 32 hours and the mean period of hospitalization was 26 days. The treatment procedures were two-layer primary closure with or without drainage, drainage

Neonatal small bowel perforation in ileal atresia in a low resource setting: A case report
Jejunoileal atresia is a common cause of neonatal intestinal obstruction with high mortality and morbidity in a low resource setting where surgical care is lacking. Herein, a 4‐day‐old presented with features of acute abdomen and septicemia, managed with

A 3D bone scaffold with osteogenic properties and capable of hardening in vivo is developed. The scaffold is implanted in a ductile state, and a phase transformation of the ceramic induces the stiffening and strengthening of the scaffold in vivo. Abstract Calcium phosphate 3D printing has revolutionized customized bone grafting.

Anisotropic Shear Properties of Organic Interfaces in Bio‐composite Materials
A novel cantilever design enables direct probing of shear properties at single organic interfaces within biocomposite prismatic ultrastructures. By decoupling lateral and torsional shear responses, the method reveals isotropic behavior in Atrina vexillum and pronounced anisotropy in Unio pictorum.
