Distributed computing applications are collections of processes allocated across a network that cooperate to accomplish common goals. The applications require the support of a distributed computing runtime environment that provides services to help manage process concurrency and interprocess communication.

A polytropic analytical equation system for the internal e ow of nozzles and ducts has been developed by a solution to the combined friction/area change compressible e ow equations. Validation of the system is sought through comparison with experimental data and numerical simulations using FLUENT in the prediction of the performances of two ...

Model checking for performability
Mathematical Structures in Computer Science, 2013This paper gives a bird's-eye view of the various ingredients that make up a modern, model-checking-based approach to performability evaluation: Markov reward models, temporal logics and continuous stochastic logic, model-checking algorithms, bisimulation and the handling of non-determinism.

Capacity planning, a major function of computer installation management, has the objective of determining cost-effective configurations to provide acceptable user service and system performance levels according to workload changes. The use of a performance predictive model is essential in the capacity planning process.

Multi-path TCP (MPTCP) has been standardized by IETF and being used in practice. However, the MPTCP performance analysis has been paid less attention than algorithm improvement, such as coupled congestion control between subflows. The existing analytical models lack consideration of both slow start and congestion avoidance phases.
