Thalamocingulate Interactions In Performance Monitoring [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Neuroscience, 2011
Performance monitoring is an essential prerequisite of successful goal-directed behavior. Research of the last two decades implicates the anterior midcingulate cortex (aMCC) in the human medial frontal cortex and frontostriatal basal ganglia circuits in this function.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Evaluation of the Strengthening Effects on Prestressed Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced-Polymer-Strengthened Steel Beam Bridges Using Macro-Strain Influence Lines

open access: yesBuildings
Effectively evaluating the effectiveness of bridge strengthening is a necessary means to ensure the normal operation of existing strengthened bridges, especially when evaluating the effectiveness of bridge strengthening without interrupting normal ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Monitoring performance

open access: yes, 2010
This book focuses on the need to develop sustainable supply chains - economically, environmentally and socially. This book is not about a wish list of impractical choices, but the reality of decisions faced by all those involved in supply chain management today. Our definition of sustainable supply chains is not restricted to so-called "green" supply ...

Review of Ground Deformation Caused by Earth Pressure Balanced Shield Construction

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] During the process of EPB SC (earth pressure balanced shield construction), inevitable soil disturbances occur, causing ground deformation and subsequently impacting the surrounding built environment negatively. Therefore, conducting research

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Behavioral and Electrophysiological Correlates of Performance Monitoring and Development in Children and Adolescents with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2020
The pathophysiology of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) involves deficits in performance monitoring and adaptive adjustments. Yet, the developmental trajectory and underlying neural correlates of performance monitoring deficits in youth ...
