Impact of Wheel-rail Lubrication on Outer Rail Wear in Metro Small Radius Curved Segments

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] For metro lines with high proportion of small radius curved segments and severe rail wear, lubrication can alter wheel-rail contact area friction coefficient and in turn effectively reduce rail wear, thus it is necessary to study the ...

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Neuropharmacology of performance monitoring

open access: yesNeuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews, 2009
Adaptive, goal-directed behavior requires that organisms evaluate their actions in terms of their outcomes. Neuroimaging studies show that unfavorable outcomes or situations with high level of conflict engage the posterior medial frontal cortex (pMFC).

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Demand Response Management with Latency Difference in Distributed Wireless Network

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
The performance of smart grid under the demand response (DR) control depends on the behavior of its network, which involves differences for multi-category DRs.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Seismic Response and Mitigation Analysis of a Subway Station in the Site with Weak Interlayers

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Challenges related to seismic performance and seismic mitigation are more pronounced in the presence of weak interlayers compared to typical layered soil conditions.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Constitutive behavior of semi-solid Al80Mg5Li5Zn5Cu5 light-weight high entropy alloy

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The constitutive behavior of engineering materials can predict the change of flow stress with processing parameters, which is of great significance for the selection of processing parameters.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
