Perfusion index in the very preterm infant

Acta Paediatrica, International Journal of Paediatrics, 2013
AbstractAimPerfusion Index (PI) is a quantifiable measurement of peripheral perfusion and may be a useful adjunct to the assessment of circulatory status in the newborn. (i) To assess reproducibility of PI and (ii) To determine whether there is a difference between simultaneously obtained limb measurements of PI in newborns <32 weeks GA in the ...

Prediction of Shock by Peripheral Perfusion Index

Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2019
To detect occurrence of clinical shock and impending shock by monitoring Peripheral Perfusion Index (PI).In this study, 100 children aged 1 mo to 12 y of age who needed hemodynamic monitoring were included and categorized into five age groups. Demographic data, nutritional status, vital parameters, perfusion index and laboratory parameters were ...

Perfusion index as a possible predictor for postanesthetic shivering

Journal of Anesthesia, 2013
Postanesthetic shivering can be triggered by surgical stress and several aspects of anesthetic management and is frequently preceded by a decrease in peripheral blood flow due to thermoregulatory vasoconstriction. As perfusion index correlates with peripheral blood flow, we examined whether perioperative perfusion index, measured using pulse oximetry ...

Hepatic perfusion index

Nuclear Medicine Communications, 1992
The reproducibility and accuracy of the hepatic perfusion index (HPI) was examined by consideration of in vitro and in vivo factors. A phantom was used to simulate liver blood flow and data acquired on nine gamma cameras. Dynamic hepatic scintigraphy was undertaken on 28 patients at two centres and values obtained for the HPI.

Contrast‐Enhanced Doppler Perfusion Index

Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 2002
Objective. To assess the potential of the power Doppler signal intensity rate of enhancement due to contrast agent wash‐in for assessment of hepatic hemodynamics. Methods. With the use of standardized settings, power Doppler sonography was performed before and after administration of a contrast agent.

Cerebral Perfusion Index

Journal of Neuroimaging, 1993
Single‐photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and transcranial Doppler (TCD) ultrasound are of good prognostic value in acute stroke, and combined they may be an accurate way to determine a target group of patients with maximum therapeutic response.

Hepato-mesenteric index: A new Doppler index in the hepatic perfusion’s study. Comparison with Doppler perfusion index

2009
Purpose: to evaluate the diagnostic capabilities of a new Doppler index, the Hepato-Mesenteric Index (HMI), in the study of hepatic metastases from large bowel tumours and to compare it with Doppler Perfusion Index (DPI). Materials and methods: HMI is calculated from the ratio between the hepatic artery’s flow and the mesenteric artery’s one.

The perfusable tissue index: a marker of myocardial viability

Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, 2003
PTI is a promising technique for detecting viable myocardium. The need for a PET scanner, an onsite cyclotron, and expertise regarding the production and administration of O-15-labeled water and carbon monoxide results in a tool that is only available in a limited number of centers worldwide.
