RE-PERG, a new procedure for electrophysiologic diagnosis of glaucoma that may improve PERG specificity

open access: yesClinical Ophthalmology, 2017
A significant variability of the second harmonic (2ndH) phase of steady-state pattern electroretinogram (SS-PERG) in intrasession retest has been recently described in glaucoma patients (GP), which has not been found in healthy subjects. To evaluate the reliability of phase variability in retest (a procedure called RE-PERG or REPERG) in the presence of

Analgesia with a combination of fentanyl: Midazolam in prehospital settings [PDF]

open access: yesABC: časopis urgentne medicine
Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid, 50 to 100 more potent than morphine. Midazolam is a short-acting Benzodiazepine, used as an aid in anesthesia. Both have dose dependent side effects, but if we use them together, smaller doses are needed.

Saltatory axonal conduction in the avian retina

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 603, Issue 21, Page 6533-6547, November 1, 2025.
Abstract figure legend Intraretinal axonal spike conduction was studied across multiple avian and mammalian species using high‐resolution multielectrode arrays. On the electrode array, saltatory axonal spike conduction was readily apparent and distinguishable from non‐saltatory conduction.

Gastric dilatation and volvulus in a capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris, Linnaeus, 1766)

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract Gastric torsion has been described in several species, but this is the first documented case in a capybara. Cholinergic and Glutamatergic Axons Differentially Require Glial Support in the Drosophila PNS

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 7, Page 1365-1382, July 2025.
Main Points In the Drosophila PNS, motor‐ and sensory axons differentially interact with wrapping glia processes. Sensory axons are more weakly associated with wrapping glia and show a length dependent degeneration upon loss of wrapping glia. ABSTRACT In vertebrates, there is a differential interaction between peripheral axons and their associated ...
