Exploratory randomized trial of Weissella cibaria CMU and oral microbiome changes in peri implant mucositis

open access: yesScientific Reports
The oral microbiome plays an important role in maintaining peri-implant health, and microbial imbalance is a key factor in the development of peri-implant mucositis (PIM).

Sacral Neural Crest‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Promote Pelvic Ganglion Repair Through Anti‐Pyroptotic Effects Involving ANXA1–FPR2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Extracellular vesicles derived from human pluripotent stem cell‐derived sacral neural crest cells promote repair of injured major pelvic ganglia and improve colorectal function. These vesicles reduce oxidative stress and pyroptosis, with ANXA1–FPR2 signaling contributing to their protective effects, and show a favorable therapeutic profile compared ...

Using the Modified Apical Access Technique to Treat Peri-Implant Mucosa Defects: Description of the Technique and Three-Dimensional Quantitative Measurement of Buccal Augmented Tissue

open access: yesDentistry Journal
The importance of augmenting the peri-implant soft- and hard-tissue architecture is now widely accepted. However, while most contemporary research supports this premise, clinicians are encountering peri-implant soft tissue defects with increasing ...

Human Engineered Heart Tissues Reproduce Trigger‐ and Substrate‐Driven Mechanisms of Ventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered heart tissues (EHTs) derived from human iPSCs replicate mechanisms of ventricular tachycardia at the tissue level. Acquired Long‐QT conditions cause early afterdepolarizations, wavebreak, and transient rotors; in contrast, focal cryoinjury forms a stable substrate that supports ongoing reentry.

In Vivo CRISPR Screen Identifies RPS19 as an Immunotherapy Target in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By employing in vivo CRISPR functional screening, we identify ribosomal protein RPS19 as a pivotal mediator driving immune evasion in hepatocellular carcinoma, wherein tumor‑released RPS19 binds C5aR1 on tumor‑associated macrophages to initiate downstream immunosuppressive signaling; SP94‑peptide‑modified SNPSS nanoparticles deliver Cas9/sgRPS19 ...

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of a Postbiotic in Home Care Maintenance in Patients Affected by Peri-Implant Mucositis

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Peri-implant mucositis is an inflammatory condition that affects the peri-implant mucosa, without bone involvement. Peri-implant mucositis can include erythema, swelling, and bleeding, and the mucosa can be painful even with the traditional oral hygiene ...

PIAS3 CircRNA‐Loaded Lipid Nanoparticles Restore ALOX15 SUMOylation to Suppress Cementoblast Ferroptosis and Attenuate Orthodontically Induced Root Resorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Orthodontic compression suppresses PIAS3 expression in cementoblasts, impairing ALOX15 SUMOylation and ubiquitin‐mediated degradation, which leads to ALOX15 accumulation, lipid peroxidation, ferroptosis, and osteoclastogenesis. Local delivery of PIAS3 circRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles restores the PIAS3–ALOX15 regulatory pathway, alleviates ...

Rational Surface Engineering Reduces Advanced Glycation End‐Product Adsorption and Improves Implant Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Targeted surface chemical modification prevents the accumulation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) on implant surfaces, attenuates inflammation and fibrosis, effectively restores angiogenic activity, and improves osseointegration under diabetic conditions.

A Novel Bioactive Component, Efoba, From Aged Garlic Targets CTSC to Suppress NET‐Driven Neuroinflammation and Ameliorate Secondary Brain Injury After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Efoba, a novel bioactive component derived from aged garlic, confers neuroprotection against intracerebral hemorrhage. It acts on microglia to suppress CTSC release, inhibits NET‐mediated neural injury, and blocks pathological microglia‐neutrophil crosstalk. This study provides a highly promising lead compound for hemorrhagic‐stroke therapy.
