[Endodontic treatment of chronic apical periodontitis without periapical medication].

open access: yesStomatoloski glasnik Srbije, 1991
The aim of this research was to evaluate the clinical course of chronic apical periodontitis (CAP), treated only endodontically, without periapical medication. Chronic apical periodontitis cases of pulpal origin were used as a material and treated endodontically as individual clinical cases. Clinical and statistical procedures were applied.

Optimising Outcomes in Endodontic Microsurgery: Evidence, Uncertainties and Future Directions

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Endodontic microsurgery (EMS) is a reliable treatment modality for managing persistent or recurrent periapical pathologies, particularly when conventional nonsurgical retreatment is infeasible or has failed. Various factors influence EMS outcomes, among which the lesion type is a key determinant.

Comparison of Different Temperatures on Bending Properties of Six Niti Endodontic File Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction: Manufacturers claim that modern NiTi files with proprietary heat treatment transform at higher temperatures, thus staying more martensite and being more resistant to cyclic fatigue and more flexible.

Multiple Periapical Lesions Influence the Expression of TLR4/NF‐κB Pathway Components and the Development of Hepatic Injuries in Healthy and Chronic Alcohol‐Consuming Rats

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the impact of multiple apical periodontitis (AP) on the expression of TLR4/NF‐κB pathway components, proinflammatory cytokine levels, and development of hepatic injuries in rats with and without chronic alcohol consumption. Methodology Thirty‐two rats were assigned to four groups (n = 8): Control, AP, Alcohol, and Alcohol+AP ...

Integrative Computational and Experimental Approaches Reveal the Protective Role of Moderate Caffeine Intake Against Apical Periodontitis Induced Bone Loss

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate whether moderate systemic caffeine intake modulates the progression of apical periodontitis (AP) and associated alveolar bone loss, combining in vivo rat experiments with in silico molecular docking to explore potential mechanisms. Methodology Male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 8 per group): control,

Dental CBCT aided diagnosis of periapical and periodontal lesions

open access: yesThe Journal of The Korean Dental Association, 2012
Radiographic diagnosis of periapical lesions is based on many factors, including anatomical limitations such as thickness of the cortical bone; positioning of the apical abscess to the cortical bone; and is complicated by proximity to other anatomical structures and neighboring teeth.

N‐Acetylcysteine Reduces Alveolar Bone Loss and Mitigates Systemic Oxidative Damage in Rats With Apical Periodontitis

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim This study aimed to evaluate the effects of N‐acetylcysteine (NAC) supplementation in apical periodontitis (AP) induced in rats. Methodology Eighteen male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to three groups: control, AP, and AP plus NAC.

Postoperative Pain After Endodontic Treatment in HIV‐Positive Patients Under HAART: A Prospective Observational Cohort Study

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To compare post‐operative pain following root canal treatment (RCT) in HIV‐positive patients receiving highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) and HIV‐negative patients and to assess the influence of systemic condition on endodontic pain.

Management Of A Radicular Cyst With Synthetic Bone Graft Subtitute (Case Report)

open access: yesCakradonya Dental Journal, 2014
The radicular cyst has been classified as inflammatory cyst, as a consequence to pulpal necrosis following caries, with an associated periapical inflammatory response.
