Femur Shape Changes in Prg4‐Deficient Mice: Morphological Insights Into Joint Well‐Being
Using X‐ray microscopy, histology, and geometric morphometrics, Prg4−/− mice were shown to have enlarged, elongated, and narrowed femora with marked alterations in trochlear groove shape. These shape changes are accompanied by thicker but biomechanically compromised articular cartilage that deteriorates with aging.
