XPM‐Induced Vector Asymmetrical Soliton with Spectral Period Doubling in Mode‐Locked Fiber Laser

Laser & Photonics reviews, 2021
Cross phase modulation (XPM) can induce soliton trapping in nonlinear medium, which has been employed to achieve vector soliton, optical switching, and optical analog of gravity‐like potentials. Here, the first observation of a novel soliton operation is

Period-doubling route to mixed-mode chaos.

Physical Review E, 2021
Mixed-mode oscillations (MMOs) are a complex dynamical behavior in which each cycle of oscillation consists of one or more large amplitude spikes followed by one or more small amplitude peaks.

Period Doubling Gained, Period Doubling Lost

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1989
Summary: Pulsating solutions to a model of gasless condensed phase combustion are studied numerically as a function of a parameter \(\mu\), which is proportional to the nondimensional activation energy. Due to the exothermic reaction, a combustion wave propagates into the fresh fuel mixture.

Control of Period-Doubling and Chaos in Varying Compliance Resonances for a Ball Bearing

, 2020
Varying compliance (VC) is an inevitable parametrical excitation to rolling bearing systems due to time-varying stiffness from rolling element revolution.
