Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Variations in the period of the sunspot cycle
Geophysical Research Letters, 1993 Using a wavelet analysis approach, subtle variations in the solar cycle period were extracted from the yearly means of the sunspot numbers. For the nominal eleven‐year solar cycle, the resulting estimates of the cycle's period are in good agreement with those given by Friis‐Christensen and Lassen.
