Extension of lower and upper solutions approach for generalized nonlinear fractional boundary value problems

open access: yesArab Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, 2022
Our main concern in this study is to present the generalized results to investigate the existence of solutions to nonlinear fractional boundary value problems (FBVPs) with generalized nonlinear boundary conditions.

A Q-operator for the twisted XXX model

open access: yes, 2005
Taking the isotropic limit in a recent representation theoretic construction of Baxter's Q-operators for the XXZ model with quasi-periodic boundary conditions we obtain new results for the XXX model.

Continuous matrix product states with periodic boundary conditions and an application to atomtronics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a time evolution algorithm for one-dimensional quantum field theories with periodic boundary conditions. This is done by applying the Dirac-Frenkel time-dependent variational principle to the set of translational invariant continuous matrix ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Rapid Convergence for Telegraph Systems with Periodic Boundary Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2017
The generalized quasilinearization method is applied in this paper to a telegraph system with periodic boundary conditions. We consider the case in which the forcing function F(t,x,U) satisfies the following condition: ∂n-1F(t,x,U)/∂Un-1 exists and is ...

Existence of solutions for subquadratic convex or $B$-concave operator equations and applications to second order Hamiltonian systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2020
This paper investigates solutions for subquadratic convex or $B$-concave operator equations. First, some existence results are obtained by the index theory and the critical point theory.

Stieltjes Differential Inclusions with Periodic Boundary Conditions without Upper Semicontinuity

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
We are studying first order differential inclusions with periodic boundary conditions where the Stieltjes derivative with respect to a left-continuous non-decreasing function replaces the classical derivative.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Solving the Einstein constraints in periodic spaces with a multigrid approach

open access: yes, 2013
Novel applications of Numerical Relativity demand for more flexible algorithms and tools. In this paper, I develop and test a multigrid solver, based on the infrastructure provided by the Einstein Toolkit, for elliptic partial differential equations on ...

Relation between image charge and potential alignment corrections for charged defects in periodic boundary conditions.

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Physics, 2018
Charged defects are often studied within the periodic density functional theory (DFT), but this introduces strong finite-size artifacts. In this work, we develop an electrostatic image interaction correction (IIC) method based on the direct solution of ...
