In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

A New Asymptotic-Tolerance Model of Dynamic Problems for Transversally Graded Cylindrical Shells
The objects of consideration are thin linearly elastic Kirchhoff-Love-type open circular cylindrical shells having a functionally graded macrostructure and a tolerance-periodic microstructure in circumferential direction.

Transfer of Energy and Momentum Between Magnetoactive Surface Microstructure and a Solid Object
We demonstrate that magnetoactive multilamellar arrays subjected to a rotating magnetic field can function as platforms for controlled transport of physical objects. Through systematic experimental investigation, we elucidate the underlying physical mechanisms determining the upper limit of the achievable transportation speed in such magnetic “conveyor‐

Optimization of bodies with locally periodic microstructureby varying the periodicity pattern
This paper describes a numerical method to optimize elastic bodiesfeaturing a locally periodic microscopic pattern.A new idea, of optimizing the periodicity cell itself, is considered. In previously published works, the authors have found thatoptimizing ...

Evolutional Contact with Coulomb Friction on a Periodic Microstructure [PDF]
AbstractWe consider the elasticity problem in a heterogeneous domain with an ε‐periodic micro‐structure, ε ≪ 1, including a multiple micro‐contact in a simply connected matrix domain with inclusions completely surrounded by cracks, which do not connect the boundary, or a textile‐like material.

A wood‐based magnetic and conductive material called Magwood (MW), capable of blocking almost 99.99% of electromagnetic waves (in the X‐band frequency range), is synthesized using a simple, solvent‐free process. MW is lightweight, resists water, and is flame‐retardant, making it a promising alternative for shielding electronics. The rapid proliferation

Currently, the technology of imparting the necessary reflective properties to a surface is becoming increasingly important. Darkening the surface and matting it helps to diffuse the reflected beam and prevent glare.

The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

The aim of this study is to propose a partially-averaged model of heat conduction in simple micro-periodic composite conductors. In this model, as in many known models of this type, the type of microstructure is represented by the single scalar parameter,

Relaxed micromorphic model of transient wave propagation in anisotropic band-gap metastructures
In this paper, we show that the transient waveforms arising from several localised pulses in a micro-structured material can be reproduced by a corresponding generalised continuum of the relaxed micromorphic type.
